09/08/04 - RIVAS RUNNER-UP AT THE II INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT. RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 softball team was number two at the II International Tournament "Rivas Ciudad del Deporte" when loosing against A4 TERRASVOGELS at the final by 8-3. Third place was for the Spanish PO/Experimental National Team and fourth for Amga Legnano from Italy. Dutch team got also two of the individual awards: Best Batter for SANDRA GOUVERNEUR and Best Pitcher for MAAIKE ZIJLSTRA. MVP was for CRISTINA GÓMEZ DEL PULGAR from Rivas Ciudad del Deporte Madrid 2012.

20/07/04 - DISAPPOINTING RESULTS FOR RIVAS AT THE QUEEN'S CUP. Softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 ended up in fourth place at the 2004 Queen's Cup after loosing the two qualifying games played. Scores were tight - tie break in both games - but Madrid team was not able to overcome its rivals: Antorcha from Valencia in the first game (score 3-2) and Kirolgi OBB in the second one (score 8-7). Our sincere gratitude to Rivas fans who were supporting the team all the time as well as to the Sports Counsellorship whose staff helped us a lot to make everything work fine. We do not forget either the huge effort that all volunteers have made (our junior players, friends and parents). Thank you all!

05/07/04 - RIVAS RUNNER-UP OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE, TOP DIVISION. The Rivas women softball team ended the National League in second place. Last games played were at home with a score of 14-0 and 12-2 . Champion of the league was VILADECANS. Third place was for ANTORCHA and fourth place for KIROLGI OBB. Fifth and sixth places were for HÉRCULES L'H and TIBURONES A CORUÑA respectively.

14/06/04 - RIVAS AND ANTORCHA SHARE OUT POINTS OF THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE LEAGUE. Women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 won only the second game of the two played away last Sunday by 7-11. First game was tight 1-1 at seventh inning but ended up 2-1 for Antorcha after a "tie-break". Rivas stays in third place of the general standings.

08/06/04 - VILADECANS DEFEATS RIVAS IN THE SECOND ROUND. RIVAS lost the two games played away versus VILADECANS. Scores were 4-0 in the first game and 5-2 in the second one. With these results Rivas goes down to the third place of the general standings. Viladecans and Kirolgi OBB are first and second respectively.

17/05/04 - RIVAS STAYS IN SECOND PLACE AT THE END OF THE FIRST ROUND. First round of the League is over with only postponed games between Antorcha and Tiburones to be played on the make up day. Women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 stays in second position of the NATIONAL LEAGUE, TOP DIVISION standings and Viladecans keeps first position. Last day of the first round of the legue RIVAS defeated away TIBURONES from A Coruña in both games played. Score at the end of seventh inning of the first game was 1-14 for RIVAS. Second game finished in the fifth inning with the "mercy rule" with a score of 19-7 also for RIVAS.

10/05/2004 - SECOND PROVISIONAL PLACE FOR RIVAS IN THE LEAGUE. After this fourth day of the League, our women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 has reached a provisional 2nd place in the general standings of the National League, Top Division. Viladecans stays as leader. Yesterday, Rivas defeated HÉRCULES L'HOSPITALET at the two games played at home having hardly any opposition. There was only 1 inning in the first game where Hércules came close scoring 1 run (score was 2-1 at that moment). But second game ended up in the 5th inning with the "mercy rule". Final scores for first and second games were 5-2 and 10-0 for RIVAS respectively.

03/05/2004 - RIVAS GETS ONE MORE VICTORY IN ORIO. Last Sunday our women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 played away double headed versus KIROLGI OBB from Guipúzcoa getting 1 victory and 1 defeat. RIVAS started scoring 6 runs in the first inning of the first game and OBB could not equalize scoring only 2. No more runs were scored until last inning: 7 for Rivas and 3 for OBB. Final score was 13-5 for RIVAS. Second game started with 2 runs for OBB in the first inning. This time RIVAS equalized in the fourth inning but right after that, at their time at bat, OBB scored one more run. Any of the teams scored again after this fourth inning so final score was 2-3 for OBB.

26/04/2004 - FIRST VICTORY FOR RIVAS IN THE LEAGUE. In the second day of the League our women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 played double headed at home against ANTORCHA from Valencia: scores were 5-7 and 6-3 for Rivas. First game: RIVAS scored first in the first inning but Valencians tied it up in the third and were ahead in the fifth (7-5) which stayed as final score after the seventh inning. Second game: scoreboard tied up to 0 until third inning in which RIVAS scored 3 runs and stayed ahead until the end of the game. Final score was 6-3 for RIVAS being its first victory of the League.

24/02/2004 - RIVAS WOMEN SOFTALL TEAM STARTS THE NATIONAL LEAGUE NEXT APRIL 18th AT HOME. On the first day of the League, our women softball team RIVAS CIUDAD DEL DEPORTE MADRID 2012 will play at home double headed against the champion of season 2003 VILADECANS from Barcelona. The first game will start at 11:00 am and the second one half an hour after the end of the first game. On the second day of the League, April 25th, RIVAS will also play at home ANTORCHA from Valencia.

19/02/2004 - ESF ANNUAL CONGRESS (Madrid, February 4th - 8th): Dates and organizing countries for Softball European Competitions of 2004. The ESF Congress was held in Madrid at the beginning of February. There, different cities were decided to host the 2004 European Competitions being Viladecans the one selected for the XIII European Cup Winners Cup, Women A, to be played next September 6th to 11th.

17/02/2004 - WOMEN SOFTBALL NATIONAL LEAGUE, TOP DIVISION. So far we still do not know the Official Schedule of the 2004 Women Softball National League, Top Division, after the withdrawal of Pamplona from this competition. Thus only 6 teams will participate in the Women Softball League, Top Division: Vialdecans, Hércules, OBB, Antorcha, Tiburones A Coruña and RIVAS.
